We have so many people that come into our shop, who are under a misguided assumption that they are eating a so-called “healthy diet”. The trouble is that they still lack energy, have trouble sleeping, have gut problems, joint pain, and skin problems to name a few. Through all our research so far and feedback from our customers, we have developed some material that can help people filter through all the information and find the diet that is actually best suitable. Consider this, if all the recommendations from our doctors and dieticians from over the last 30-40 years are correct, then why is our society getting sicker? Cancer rate are skyrocketing, heart disease continues to climb, huge proportions of the population are obese, diabetes has increased by 400% in the last 20 years and dementia is becoming a massive problem. Worst of all our kids are getting illnesses that were once regarded as adult diseases. We desire to create awareness about better food choices that will help in the prevention of fatal illnesses and diseases. We have provided below a research plan for you to help you in making informed choices and we have also included our own eating plan. Please read below for steps, guides and info that will help you in your quest to find better food choices.


Learn about human evolution. You will see how different the diet is that we now consume as opposed to what our ancestors evolved on. In the last 50 years alone, agriculture and food production has change considerably.

Familiarise yourself on the concept of the “state/environment” of your body. As with agriculture, where poor management decisions such as over farming and/or over grazing creates a “state/environment” that basically attracts weeds and diseases to move into a paddock.  The “state/environment” created suited those weeds and diseases and to remove these problems we need to change the “state/environment” in the paddock so that weeds and diseases can’t thrive there.

The same applies with our body.  Our diet, lifestyle, emotions and environment contribute to the “state/environment” of the body.  Scientist Antoine Béchamp’s (1816-1905) research showed that we do not catch diseases, we build them. We have to eat, drink, think, and feel them into existence. We work hard at developing our diseases. We must work just as hard at restoring health. The presence of germs does not constitute the presence of a disease. So, our bodies are in effect mini-ecosystems, or biological terrain in which nutritional status, level of toxicity and pH or acid/alkaline balance play key roles. E.g. An alkaline body pH is a  healthy “state/environment” for our body. A high percentage of grains and sugar (which burn to a net acid load) in our diet, is creating a “state/environment” of acidity. Nearly all our degenerative diseases like an acid environment. Look at the science of epigenetics which explains we are not victims of our genetic but they are influneced by food, emotions, toxins, excercise and environment.

Understand the Lipid hypothesis. We have been told for the last 30 or 40 years that saturated fat is really bad for you. And that low fat choices are the best for our health, however the bulk of evidence suggests quite the opposite. Saturated fat and cholesterol are in fact not bad for us and are essential for optimal health.

Learn how important nutrition is to our well-being. Unfortunately it is not a given that nutrition will show up in our food. You will discover that the state of our body determines whether it attracts disease or is a place that disease cannot exist.

This has been pushed for the last 30-40 years as the healthiest way to consume foods, however it has been designed for the benefit of food manufacturers who sell packaged and processed products. As you may notice when you study the Food Pyramid you will see that the recommendation is that our diet be based on whole grain products. If you look at the diet of most people, it is predominately made of grain products, particularly modern wheat. I often ask people what is the main ingredient that we feed to cattle, pigs, chickens and fish to make them fatten quicker. We have spent many years of research, finding what suits our body and gives us vitality, energy and a great sense of well being. Those of you that follow us on Facebook and our blog would get a fair idea what we think about the current food system. Basically we believe that the best food for our body is as close to as nature intended it to be. Wild or grass-fed ruminants such as cattle, sheep and goats etc. Free range pork and poultry. Occasional wild caught fish (but always conscious that this is a diminishing resource due to its high demand – land based animal products are healthier and also sustainable). We eat heaps of raw and slightly steamed vegetables, plenty of leafy greens, most root vegetables (excluding potatoes). Some full cream and butter. We cook with olive oil, raw coconut oil and ghee. We have eliminated milk, most grain products especially modern wheat. We avoid all vegetable oils or seed oils (canola, sunflower and safflower etc.) and any soy products. It also goes without saying that we choose organic food products in front of conventionally grown products if we have that option. Our diet is all about whole food products with little or no processing. Just like our grandparents grow up on, which was organic by default.
